Casement Hard Worn Hardware

After freeing the casements and laying them flat on the sawhorses the first order of business was to wrangle all the hardware. Latches, catches, hinges and pins. (More on the hinges in a separate post).

Much to my delight the latch hardware and hinge pins are solid brass. Alas, the hinges are steel. Nevertheless, the brass items cleaned up nicely. Wire wheels on the variable speed bench buffer did all the work. Here are some before and after shots.
